When Ubuntu switched to Unity, a flavor of Ubuntu, named
Ubuntu GNOME, was released that used the GNOME 3 desktop. The distro was discontinued when Ubuntu switched to GNOME 3, but I don't fully see why they stopped developing it, since Ubuntu GNOME used a primarily stock version of GNOME 3, while mainline Ubuntu's GNOME 3 DE has a lot of customization.

Also, I downloaded a copy of Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 (the last LTS release of the distro) to check it out, and surprisingly there were still 1-2 seeders who were seeding the ISO!
