When Ubuntu switched to Unity, a flavor of Ubuntu, named Ubuntu GNOME, was released that used the GNOME 3 desktop. The distro was discontinued when Ubuntu switched to GNOME 3, but I don't fully see why they stopped developing it, since Ubuntu GNOME used a primarily stock version of GNOME 3, while mainline Ubuntu's GNOME 3 DE has a lot of customization.

Also, I downloaded a copy of Ubuntu GNOME 16.04 (the last LTS release of the distro) to check it out, and surprisingly there were still 1-2 seeders who were seeding the ISO!

Unity was available on a few other distros (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unity_(us ... ailability). Apparently, there is a Manjaro community ISO that ships with Unity (https://github.com/manjaro/unity-for-ma ... 2212021811).

Thread for comments on my Unity article. Also going to post a few things from my research that I didn't include in the article.
